San Marcos, CA–Sheriff’s Department investigators gave an all-clear after no suspicious device was found at a North County elementary school following a bomb threat Wednesday afternoon in San Marcos, authorities said.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, a phone call was made around 1 p.m. of a bomb threat at San Marcos Elementary School located at 1 Tiger Way.

Deputies arrived at the school within minutes of the call, and contacted school officials, and informed them about the threat. For the safety of students and staff, school administrators made the decision to evacuate the school.

Deputies searched the entire campus along with officers and bomb-sniffing dogs from Cal State San Marcos Police Department and San Diego State University Police Department. The search was completed just before 4 p.m. and nothing suspicious was found. The school was then released to the San Marcos Unified School District.
