Possible school threat reported at Vista School

By Gina Yarbrough

Vista, CA–Sheriff’s deputies responded Tuesday night to reports of a possible school threat at Guajome Park Academy on North Santa Fe Avenue, authorities said.

Deputies and detectives arrived on campus around 8 p.m. to investigate the threat. School administrators were immediately notified, and a safety plan was implemented for the following day.

On Wednesday, law enforcement maintained an increased presence at the academy while detectives pursued the investigation. Authorities later identified a juvenile student connected to the threat. Deputies contacted the student and their parents at their home. Searches of both the residence and the school turned up no weapons. Investigators determined the threat was unfounded.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that all threats are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly. Officials also reaffirmed their commitment to student and community safety.

Students are urged to report threats or suspicious activity to deputies or call the anonymous Crime Stoppers Students Speaking Out Tip Line at (858) 322-6205, or the Sheriff’s Office at (858) 868-3200.
