Vista, CA–Children and families are invited to discover the wonders of nature during the upcoming Kids in the Garden class at Alta Vista Botanical Gardens on September 13 in Vista.
Led by Farmer Jones, the 10 a.m. to noon interactive program will encourage participants to explore the outdoors using all five senses—moving quietly, listening carefully, and observing the natural world up close. Children will also take part in fun outdoor games designed to connect them with their surroundings.
The morning includes a walk through 14 acres of the gardens, followed by free time for families to enjoy the grounds until closing at 5:30 p.m.
The class fee is $5 per person and includes garden admission. The program is free for families with a current family membership. Grandparents with memberships may also bring their grandchildren at no cost. Adults are asked to remain with their children during the class.
Pre-registration is required by noon on Sept. 12 by emailing Farmer Jones at farmerjonesavbg@gmail.com. Parents should provide their child’s name and age for the check-in roster and indicate if they are members.
Alta Vista Botanical Gardens is located at 1270 Vale Terrace Drive, at the top of the hill inside Brengle Terrace Park in Vista.
