ALPINE–Through the combined efforts of multiple agencies and organizations, life is now forever changed for five bears and a white tiger cub after being relocated to safety by Lions Tigers and Bears from locations in various southern states.

The Lions Tigers and Bears hauler arrived in Louisiana late last week to pick up a five-month-old white tiger cub after suffering severe neglect. Despite her dire condition when first rescued, she has improved dramatically with proper veterinary care.

Next on the route was Alabama to pick up three black bears, one less than a year old, all being housed in very small enclosures. The video below features highlights from that morning as Bobbi Brink and her rescue team arrive at the location and transfer each of them safely into the hauler.

LTB was back on the road that same day to pick up a Syrian brown bear and a black bear/grizzly bear hybrid in North Carolina, both of which were also being housed in very small enclosures.

Due to their size, and the logistics of the location, the bears were sedated for their safe transfer to the hauler. Veterinarians were on hand to carefully monitor the animals, taking the opportunity to perform physical exams on each of them while they were under.

It wasn’t long before the LTB rescue team was back in the hauler and headed west to transport all five bears to The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado. These bears will now enjoy open space to roam, some for the first time in their lives, along with healthy diets and proper medical care.

Rescue missions such as these involve countless hours of preparation, strategic coordination while traveling from state-to-state, and tons of paperwork. All of this is executed quickly and efficiently by the LTB team to minimize travel time for the animals being transported.
