BONITA–Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a woman July 4 at an apartment complex parking lot in Bonita.
The victim was identified as Janessa Delvalle, a 19-year-old resident of Bonita. The Medical Examiner’s Office conducted the autopsy. The cause of death is gunshot wound and the manner of death is homicide.
On July 4, at about 7:40 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a person who was shot at the 5100 block of Cedarwood Road in Bonita. When deputies arrived, they found an adult female victim who had been shot. Residents had performed CPR on the woman until first responders arrived.
Deputies learned there was a fight between several women in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 5100 Cedarwood Road just prior to the shooting. The victim was found in the parking lot.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. She did not survive. She was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at the hospital.
