ALPINE–The Valley Fire continues to rage across the Cleveland National Forest, southeast of Alpine Sunday, according to Cal Fire San Diego.

The fast-moving blaze has charred 4,000 acres and is 0% contained. Approximately 10 structures were destroyed.

Evacuation orders are in effect for residents in the community of Carve Acre which is southeast of Alpine. 

A temporary shelter has been set up at Steele Canyon High School in Spring Valley, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department reported road closures at Japatul and Carveacre Roads, Lawson Valley Road and Skyline Truck Trail, Japatul Road and Sequan Truck Trail, and Japatul and Hidden Glen Roads, Wisecarver Lane and Wisecarver Truck Trail, Skyline Truck Trail and Lawson Valley, Montiel Truck and West Boundary Truck Trails, and Montiel Truck Trail and Lawson Valley Road.

The fire broke out Saturday at 3 p.m. on Japatul Road and Carveacre Road in the Cleveland National Forest.
