Imperial Beach, CA–A man was taken into custody following a bank robbery in Imperial Beach on Friday morning, according to authorities.
The incident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. at a Chase Bank on the 1100 block of Palm Avenue.
Deputies from the Imperial Beach Sheriff’s Substation responded to reports of a robbery in progress.
When deputies arrived, bank employees reported that a man had entered, demanded cash, and left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Deputies initiated a search of the area, and by 10 a.m., they had located and detained a man matching the description provided by witnesses.
The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Rashad McNeely, was positively identified by witnesses as the individual involved in the robbery. He was arrested and booked into the San Diego Central Jail on robbery and related charges.
