Oceanside, CA–A 24-year-old Oceanside woman was arrested Friday morning in connection with the July 15 fatal hit and run of a bicyclist, the Oceanside Police Department reports.

Detectives arrested Bailey Tennery at 7:38 a.m. at her home in Oceanside. Authorities also recovered her 2014 Black Nissan Versa Note. Tennery was charged with vehicular homicide and hit and run resulting in death. Tennery is being held at Vista Detention Facility on a $150,000 bail. 

On July 15, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Oceanside police responded to calls of a bicyclist lying in the eastbound lane of Oceanside Blvd. A witness reported that the bicyclist was neither moving nor breathing. Witnesses also reported an unknown dark-colored vehicle fled the scene eastbound on Oceanside Blvd under Interstate 5. 

The unidentified male cyclist sustained major head trauma. He was pronounced dead on scene.
