Oceanside, CA–Two drivers were injured Saturday night after a two-vehicle collision left both cars overturned, including one that came to rest precariously on a bridge, authorities said.
The incident was reported at approximately 10:30 p.m., prompting a response from Oceanside Fire Department crews. Officials said one of the vehicles landed against a light post and was partially hanging off a bridge above a culvert, creating a dangerous situation for emergency responders.
Each vehicle had a single occupant. Firefighters first worked to stabilize the vehicle teetering on the bridge before beginning extrication efforts. Using specialized rescue equipment, crews were able to safely access and remove the driver from the wreckage.
Both individuals were found in stable condition and were transported by ambulance to local hospitals for further evaluation and treatment.
The Oceanside Fire Department reminded the public to exercise caution and remain alert while driving.
