Vista, CA–Two people were taken into custody this week following a violent road-rage incident in Vista that left a pedestrian seriously injured and caused extensive damage to several vehicles, authorities said.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on August 24 near Calle Jules and Via Felicidad. The driver of a Toyota Sequoia, identified as 41-year-old Lindsey Bigbey, was aggressively chasing a Jeep Cherokee through a residential neighborhood when the Sequoia struck a pedestrian and multiple parked cars. The pursuit ended after Bigbey’s vehicle collided head-on with another car, disabling it.
Deputies said Bigbey then abandoned the SUV and climbed into the passenger side of the Jeep, which 42-year-old Nathan Robson drove. The pair fled the scene together, leaving the injured pedestrian behind. The victim was rushed to a local hospital with major injuries.
After a three-day search, deputies arrested Bigbey and Robson on August 27 in the 2600 block of East Mission Bay Drive in San Diego. Both were booked into the Vista Detention Facility on multiple felony charges, including hit-and-run, assault with a deadly weapon, and aiding and abetting.
The Sheriff’s Traffic Unit is continuing its investigation.
