Oceanside, CA–Two Oceanside massage parlors have been permanently closed following a yearlong investigation into reports of prostitution and possible human trafficking, authorities confirmed this week.
According to the Oceanside Police Department, the closures resulted from a coordinated effort between the department’s Special Enforcement Section Vice Unit, the City Attorney’s Office, Code Enforcement, and the city’s licensing department.
The investigation began in September 2024 after community members reported suspected human trafficking at Nirvana Spa, located at 3320 Mission Avenue, and Seaside Acupressure at 560 Greenbrier Drive.
Detectives conducted multiple undercover operations over several months, leading to the arrest of several employees for prostitution-related offenses. Investigators interviewed more than two dozen employees, all of whom were treated as potential victims of human trafficking. While none accepted assistance at the time, they were provided with resources and told they could contact the department if they later sought help.
The City of Oceanside has permanently revoked the business licenses for both locations, and the owner of the establishments is no longer permitted to operate within the city.
“These closures send a clear message that businesses engaging in illegal activity will not be tolerated in Oceanside,” Police Chief Taurino Valdovinos said in a statement.
The Oceanside Police Department emphasized its continued commitment to combating human trafficking and exploitation.
