SAN DIEGO–An acquaintance of a woman found dead in a downtown San Diego hotel was charged with her murder, San Diego police said Friday.

On Friday, an acquaintance of the woman, 40 year-old Jason Bradwell Lewis of San Diego, was arrested in the 500 block of West Broadway. He was booked into County Jail for one count of murder. Lewis is due to be arraigned in San Diego Superior Court on Monday.

On Tuesday, police officers responded to a call of a person not breathing at a hotel in the 500 block of West Broadway. Officers located a white female in a common shower area of the hotel. She sustained blunt force trauma to her upper torso and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The woman was identified as 26 year-old Jhordann Reann Rust of Wisconsin.
