San Diego, CA–A 25-year-old father was arrested by San Diego police for suspicion of child endangerment after he carried his 2-year-old daughter into an elephant habitat at the San Diego Zoo, authorities said Friday.

The incident was reported at 4:20 p.m. at the habitat. By the time zoo security arrived at the scene, the unidentified man had already exited the area.

Zoo officials said the elephants, the man and his daughter were not harmed during the incident. 

The incident is under investigation.
