ALPINE–Crime Stoppers and investigators from the Alpine Sheriff’s Station are asking for the public’s help to locate an unknown suspect wanted in connection with a felony battery case.

On June 20, between the hours of 7:15 p.m. and 8:50 p.m., a 63-year-old woman was assaulted by a male while she was walking along Harbison Canyon Road near Hunter Pass in Alpine. The suspect attacked the victim from behind by pushing her into a fence and possibly struck her in the face with his hands or an unknown object. A passing motorist noticed the woman who was lying face down on the ground. She sustained serious injuries to her face, including multiple cuts, abrasions and bruises. She was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.

The suspect is described as a white man between 20 and 30-years-old with short unkempt hair.  He was wearing a light-colored t-shirt. Prior to being attacked, the victim observed a light colored single cab truck parked along Harbison Canyon Road. It is unknown if this truck is related to this case.
