RANCHO SAN DIEGO—Several homes were threatened when a brush fire broke out Sunday in Rancho San Diego, authorities said.

The blaze was reported about 6:25 p.m. in the area of Brabham Street and Greenwick Road. It threatened homes on Bridgehampton Place and Sheriff’s deputies were requested to evacuate residents by San Miguel Fire.

Cal Fire and Sheriff’s ASTREA helicopter were able to contained the fire area to approximately 10 acres.

There were no injuries or damage to any structures and the cause of the brush fire is under investigation by the San Miguel Fire Department and Cal Fire.

The evacuation order was lifted at 7:09 p.m..
