OCEANSIDE–North County residents laced up their walking shoes to participate in the Autism Speaks 5k walk at Mance Buchanon Park in Oceanside.

San Diego personality Little Tommy Sablan served as the official emcee for the walk, and held a pep rally prior to the walk.

More than 400 participated in the walk, including families with autistic children, according to the event’s organizers.

Each walker who raised $150 received an official 2018 Autism Speaks Walk shirt, exclusively designed by Tommy Hilfiger.

The event also featured information booths, Kids Zone sponsored by the San Diego Seals, and live entertainment.

The 501st Legion Imperial Sands Garrison and Surf Dog Ricochet and Aqua Dog Cori were onsite to support the cause.

The walks are a major fundraising vehicle for Autism Speaks.
