Del Mar, CA–The 22nd District Agricultural Association has officially announced the theme and logo for the 2025 San Diego County Fair: Summer Pet-tacular.
At last Tuesday’s meeting, the Board of Directors finalized the tagline, and branding elements across the fair’s website and social media platforms.
“Our community’s fair—a cherished summer tradition and the best value for family entertainment—will highlight the special connections between people and their pets,” said Carlene Moore, CEO of the 22nd District Agricultural Association. She noted the theme aligns with their commitment to supporting animal welfare, a cause rooted in the same year the fair began, 1880.
While public and animal safety will remain a top priority, the fairgrounds will not permit general admission of pets due to potential risks like crowded spaces, hot pavement, and the sensory overload of lights and sounds. The goal is to ensure a fun and inclusive experience for everyone, including those who might be allergic to or fearful of animals.
Despite these restrictions, the fair will include activities celebrating pet ownership. The San Diego Humane Society will collaborate with fair organizers to incorporate special pet-friendly festivities.
Gary Weitzman, president and CEO of the San Diego Humane Society, expressed enthusiasm for partnering with the San Diego County Fair.
“With a record number of homeless pets in shelters, we’re thrilled to introduce fairgoers to potential new family members,” Weitzman said. “This collaboration allows us to celebrate pets, educate the community on responsible ownership, and find homes for animals in need.”
The 2025 fair will run from June 11 to July 6, closing on Mondays and Tuesdays. Visitors can enjoy an array of attractions, including food, music, rides, games, exhibits, agricultural education, contests, and animal displays.
Details and schedules of activities will be available at sdfair.com in the coming months.
