San Diego, CA–Academy Award-winning visual effects artist John Bruno, known for his groundbreaking work on “The Abyss,” “Avatar,” “Terminator 2,” “Titanic,” and “True Lies,” will appear at San Diego Comic-Con for a panel discussion on July 25 at the Omni Hotel in San Diego.
Bruno will join publisher and creator Allen Ling—co-owner of Heavy Metal International and founder of Genseven Creations—for a 10 a.m. panel titled “Graphic Novel Production and Pitching.” The discussion will explore the logistics behind creating graphic novels, including production costs, recruitment of artists and letterers, and the advantages and pitfalls of a do-it-yourself approach.
Panelists will also offer insight into the often complex process of pitching graphic novels to film and television studios, including the networking challenges that aspiring creators may face. Attendees will gain valuable advice on protecting their intellectual property and maintaining creative integrity in a competitive market.
Ling, who will moderate the session, calls the panel “a must-see” for anyone hoping to develop a graphic novel to adapt it for the screen.
Additional guest experts may join the panel to share their real-world industry experience.
