Lil Peep’s track “Star Shopping” has been released under his eponymous imprint.

“Star Shopping” follows the release of “Gym Class,” which was dropped last week. Previously recorded and released in 2015 (“Star Shopping”) and early 2016 (“Gym Class”), the official release of these tracks gives fans the opportunity to experience Peep in the earlier stages of his innovative genre-bending legacy.

As recalled by his mother, Liza Womack “Gus actually composed the lyrics to ‘Star Shopping’ on his phone, in his Notes app, on August 16, 2015–right after a trip to Cambridge for his grandfather’s birthday. The song wasn’t uploaded to SoundCloud until December of that year.” Womack added, “That was Gus’s big song, as he got many views and likes on it right away–20k in 24 hours, and over a hundred thousand in a week. He was very excited about that.”

Womack also discussed the making of the “Gym Class” video which will soon be re-released officially on the Lil Peep YouTube channel. “Gus liked ‘Gym Class’ enough to make a video for it. He had returned to the Pasadena house he had lived in during the fall/winter of 2014-15, but this time was collaborating with a slew of comrades he had befriended during the winter of 2015-16,” stated Womack. “He made the ‘Gym Class’ video with his friend and collaborator, Killstation. Killstation recalled that the photos used as overlays for the videos title and frame animations were drawn by Gus–using a sharpie on a paper towel, as there was no paper in their house.”

Lil Peep’s latest album Come Over When Your Sober, Pt. 2, was released in November 2018 and debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart. The single “Falling Down,” was a top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and was #1 on both the Spotify US and Apple Music US charts. Chart success continues for Lil Peep with “I’ve Been Waiting,” his collaboration with iLoveMakonnen featuring Fall Out Boy. The song continues to climb the Top 40 chart and is currently at #13. Recently it was announced that a remix version of “When I Lie” featuring Ty Dolla $ign will be featured on For the Throne (Music Inspired by the HBO Series Game of Thrones), which drops on April 26.
