Renowned filmmaker Luca Guadagnino brings to life the captivating drama “Challengers,” starring Zendaya as the fierce and unapologetic Tashi Duncan, a once-promising tennis player turned coach.
The film follows Tashi’s journey as she navigates the complexities of love, rivalry, and redemption both on and off the tennis court.
Tashi is married to a former champion on a downward spiral, portrayed by Mike Faist (“West Side Story”). Her unconventional strategy to revive her husband’s career takes an unexpected turn when he faces off against Patrick, played by Josh O’Connor (“The Crown”)—his former best friend and Tashi’s former flame.
As the characters’ intertwined pasts and presents collide, tensions escalate, prompting Tashi to confront the high price of victory.
Written by Justin Kuritzkes and produced by Amy Pascal, Luca Guadagnino, Zendaya, and Rachel O’Connor, “Challengers” promises to deliver a gripping narrative filled with twists and emotional depth.
Bernard Bellew, Lorenzo Mieli, and Kevin Ulrich serve as executive producers of this Amazon MGM Studios production.
“Challengers” opens in theaters on April 26. The film is rated R for coarse language, some sexual content, and graphic nudity.
