Los Angeles, CA–The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences honored Hollywood luminaries at the 16th Governors Awards held on November 16 at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Hollywood.
Debbie Allen received an Honorary Award from Cynthia Erivo, Tom Cruise was honored by Alejandro González Iñárritu, and Wynn Thomas was recognized by Octavia Spencer. The Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award went to Dolly Parton, with her acceptance recorded in Nashville and presented by Lily Tomlin. All awards, including the honorary Oscars, were selected by the Academy’s Board of Governors in June.
The event was produced by Oscar-nominated producer Jennifer Fox and hosted by Will Arnett. Academy President Lynette Howell Taylor delivered opening remarks.
The Governors Awards are presented in partnership with Rolex, the exclusive watch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
