OCEANSIDE–As part of Earth Month 2014, students at Green Oceanside and Coastal Music Studios will showcase their theatrical talents at the Star Theater in downtown Oceanside.
The April 25 Create to Educate Performance Art Showcase was created to educate the audience on environmental issues, event organizers say.
A reception will be held in the lobby from 6 to 7 p.m. with the event beginning at 7p.m. Admission is free.
The Create to Educate Performance Art Showcase gives students an opportunity to creatively discuss important environmental issues.
As part of the Create to Educate Art Contest, students from Oceanside were invited to compose a song, rap, sketch, dramatic skit, poem or a spoken word piece on various environmental topics and submit a video performing the work. Winners in each age group will be announced at the end of the program and grand prize winners will receive a mini- Ipad. Additionally, winners will be invited to perform again at the North County Earth Festival on April 27.
