SAN DIEGO–Broadway/San Diego-A Nederlander Presentation has announced their 2018-2019 season of time-tested and contemporary Broadway classics coming to San Diego Civic Theatre.

The new season, sponsored by San Diego County Credit Union, begins with a little slice of heaven with the irresistible Broadway hit and beloved film, Waitress. Next is Broadway’s most beloved musical, the 2017 Tony Award-winner for Best Revival, Hello, Dolly! back on stage where it belongs. Discover a whole new world and get everything you wished for with Disney’s Aladdin. Make new memories at Cats based on T.S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats. Enjoy a delicious tale by Roald Dahl which is sure to be San Diego’s golden ticket, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Start a new tradition with the with the Tony Award winning, and one of Broadway’s most loved musicals of all time, Fiddler on the Roof. And finally, be captivated by the epic love-story about the ultimate sacrifice of love, based on the iconic opera Madame Butterfly, with Miss Saigon.

“The 2018-2019 season, is the perfect combination of touring shows making their San Diego debut, nicely balanced with the return of some all-time theatrical treasures.” said Joe Kobryner, Vice President of Broadway/San Diego.  “We truly have something for everyone, from family favorites, to heart-breaking love stories,” he added.

Added season events include contemporary shows that have ignited and shaped a new generation of audience members like Beautiful, the inspiring true story of Carole King. In addition, be transported to the magical land of Oz in the return of Wicked and back by popular demand, The Book of Mormon, which played record breaking runs in 2014 and 2016, returns to San Diego for a limited engagement.
