SAN DIEGO–San Diego Latino Film Festival is seeking submissions from filmmakers for their 25th annual festival in 2018.
Festival organizers are seeking innovative, original, and thought-provoking works that are ‘by’, ‘about’, or ‘for’ the Latino community, that have been completed between 2016 to 2017.
Filmmakers can register their films through one of the festival’s submissions platforms, Film Freeway or Withoutabox.
The 2018 San Diego Latino Film Festival will include expanded opportunities for participating filmmakers and their films/videos to take the spotlight.
The festival will feature over 160 feature and short films, over 100 guest filmmakers and actors, awards food, beer and wine festival, tributes to acclaimed filmmakers, actors and actresses, opening and closing night gala celebrations, Meet The Filmmaker’ dialogues, and more.
Twenty-five years ago, the San Diego Latino Film Festival (SDLFF) was born out of a desire to take a stand against the status-quo of cinema, to challenge the reigning and ever-present stereotypes about the Latino experience in movies, and to give Latino filmmakers the power of telling and sharing their stories, first-hand, about what it means to be Latino.
The festival has hosted over 2,500 renowned directors, actors, producers, writers and more including Gael Garcia Bernal, Diego Luna, Alfonso Cuaron, Kate del Castillo, Dolores Huerta, and Danny Trejo.
