By Gina Yarbrough

Oceanside, CA–Oceanside police have launched a homicide investigation following the discovery of a deceased adult male at a residence early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Poumele Way at 7:34 a.m. for a welfare check on the resident. Upon arrival, officers found the man deceased inside the home.

Detectives from the Crimes of Violence Unit have taken charge of the investigation. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin, officials said.

“This remains an active and ongoing homicide investigation,” a department spokesperson stated.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward. Tips can be directed to Detective Knox at (760) 435-4333 or submitted anonymously through the department’s Anonymous Tip Line at (760) 435-4730.
