Oceanside, CA–A 22-year-old Camp Pendleton Marine was killed in a motorcycle collision on Tuesday after losing control of his bike while passing a vehicle at high speed, authorities reported.
The Oceanside Police Department responded to a call at 6:19 p.m. regarding a single-motorcycle collision near Avenida Del Oro and Old Grove Road.
According to police, the 2024 black Kawasaki Ninja sport bike lost control and ejected the rider from his motorcycle. He sustained severe injuries.
He was transported to Tri-City Medical Center, where he went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at 7:16 p.m. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.
The Oceanside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the incident.
