Jamul, CA–Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 45-year-old man Sunday afternoon after a shooting incident stemming from a neighborhood dispute in the unincorporated community of Jamul.

Deputies responded to reports of gunfire around 3:07 p.m. in a neighborhood. When they arrived, they detained several individuals at the scene and identified Daniel Ames as the suspected shooter. Ames was arrested and booked into San Diego Central Jail on a felony charge of shooting at an inhabited dwelling, as well as an unrelated felony warrant, the Sheriff’s Office stated in the department’s news release.

Investigators say the dispute escalated to the point where shots were fired, striking a nearby residence. No injuries were reported.

Sheriff’s detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the incident.

Authorities ask anyone with information to contact the Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s Station at (619) 660-7090.
