Vista, CA–A woman is in custody on suspicion of being behind a murder-for-hire plot to have her husband killed, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.

On July 2 around 7:30 p.m., deputies from the North Coastal Sheriff’s Station received a radio call about a house fire in the 4600 block of Rancho Reposo in an unincorporated area of San Diego County. Deputies contacted 42-year-old Tatyana Remley at the house. She was in possession of three firearms and ammunition. She was arrested for firearms-related offenses and booked into the Vista Detention Facility. The Sheriff’s Bomb and Arson Unit responded to the scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

On July 3, detectives from the North Coastal Sheriff’s Station opened an investigation after receiving information Remley was attempting to hire someone to kill her estranged husband.

On August 2, Tatyana Remley met with an undercover Sheriff’s detective. She provided detailed information on how she wanted her husband killed and his body disposed of. Remley brought three additional firearms and U.S. currency as a down payment for the murder. Remley was arrested and booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
