The Chargers completed a trade with the Seattle Seahawks today, sending quarterback Charlie Whitehurst to the Seahawks for undisclosed draft considerations.
The 6-4, 220-pound Whitehurst is entering his fifth NFL season. He has played in only two regular-season games during his career and has yet to throw a pass in a regular-season contest. He did however score a rushing touchdown on a 14-yard run against Tennessee in Sept. 2006.
Whitehurst’s father, David, is also a former NFL quarterback. He played for Green Bay from 1976-83.
The trade leaves Philip Rivers and Billy Volek as the two remaining quarterbacks on the Chargers’ roster.
