Wells Park offers “Off Leash” dog areas

September 17, 2010 By Staff

Wells Park's "off leash" dog area.

EL CAJON–The City of El Cajon offers several nice parks, along with recreational facilities and activities. One of our popular features is the Wells Park “off leash” dog areas. It’s perfect for those who live in a house, apartment or condo with little or no yard. Maybe the lack of yard space has prevented you from getting a dog. No problem, we have a 1.4 acre “off leash” dog area that is separated into an area for large dogs and another for smaller/shy breeds with plenty of room to play in a safe controlled environment. They’re handicapped accessible with beautiful shade trees, a shelter area and a specially designed water fountain just for dogs. If you work late, lighting allows you to utilize the dog park area at night.

Built in 2004, this off leash dog area allows your dog the opportunity to socialize with other dogs. Like all our parks and recreation centers this area is well maintained – even in the rain! Online reviews from the public have commented they feel it’s “best” dog park in the County.
