The County Office of Education is asking everyone to help reduce truancy in San Diego County. Any student missing more than 30 minutes of instruction without an excuse three times during the school year must be classified as truant and reported to the proper school authority. One in every 10 students in San Diego County will miss at least 10 percent of the school year due to truancy.
