SAN DIEGO–County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Central Division are asking the public to help identify and locate an unknown suspect wanted for assault with a deadly weapon.
Detectives said on January 1, approximately fifteen minutes after midnight, a 28 year-old male victim was celebrating New Year’s eve at a bar inside the W Hotel on 421 West B Street in Downtown San Diego. The victim reported the bar was very crowded and there was some shoving and pushing at the bar. At some point during the shoving and pushing, an unknown suspect stabbed the victim for no known reason. Immediately after being stabbed, the victim saw the suspect walking away.
The suspect was described as an adult white male, mid-20’s, approximately 5’10” tall, short blonde hair, wearing a black collared shirt. The suspect was with 2 to 3 other white males. The victim immediately got in a cab parked at the curb and went directly to the hospital. The suspect suffered a collapsed lung and a punctured spleen. The victim has been released from the hospital and is recovering from his injuries.
Just prior to the stabbing, the victim was talking to a possible witness to the stabbing. The witness is a white female, 29 years-old, about 5’3” tall, wearing a sparkly dress and possibly named Sarah. The witness stated she was a law school grad who attended Cal Poly University.
