San Diego County Crime Stoppers and detectives from the San Diego Police Department’s Robbery Unit are asking for assistance from the public to help identify a suspect wanted for a robbery in San Diego.
Detectives said on January 9 at approximately 2:15 a.m., the Café Venti coffee shop located at 4681 Convoy Street was robbed by an unidentified Asian male armed with a semi-automatic handgun. The female owner was inside the locked business after closing, counting the day’s receipts, when an unknown male suspect kicked in the glass front door and entered the business. The suspect immediately drew a handgun and fired several rounds in the direction of the owner. The owner fled out the rear door of the business. The male walked over to the register and removed money from the cash drawer. As the male was walking out of the business, he fired one more round into the air.
The suspect is described as an Asian male 25-30 years old, 5’07”-5’10” tall, weighing between 170-200 lbs. The suspect was wearing a pair of dark framed prescription glasses, a black Chicago White Sox baseball cap, a black hooded sweatshirt, white knee length shorts with a plaid pattern, and black tennis shoes.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the identity and or location of the persons responsible for this crime to call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.
