Two people arrested in Vista on multiple firearms charges

Vista, CA–A convicted felon and his girlfriend were arrested on suspicion of manufacturing firearms in a motel room and child endangerment, the Sheriff’s office said Thursday.

The suspect, 26-year-old Jeremy Joseph Greene, is a convicted felon with prior weapon charges. Greene was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on multiple firearms and child endangerment charges. His probation was also revoked.

On September 18, Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Franciscan Motel in the 900 block of South Santa Fe Avenue in Vista for a report of a man pointing a firearm with a laser at people.

Despite numerous attempts from deputies asking Greene to surrender, he refused to comply. He had barricaded himself in his motel room with his girlfriend and their two small children.

Greene’s grandmother intervened and convinced him to come out of the room. Greene was taken into custody and his girlfriend and children were taken to safety. Greene was later identified by both the victim and a witness as the suspect in the incident.

Deputies searched the motel room and found multiple high-capacity short-barreled rifles, pistols, magazines, and several hundred rounds of ammunition. A firearms manufacturing station was also located inside the room complete with a machinist drill press, numerous firearm components, tools, materials, and postal service packaging.

After detectives from the Vista Sheriff’s Station conducted their initial investigation, Green’s 25-year-old girlfriend, Sophiena Robles was brought in for questioning. On September 30, she was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on multiple firearms and child endangerment charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
