SAN DIEGO–Police officers arrested two men for their involvement in a series of “smash and grab” commercial burglaries that started in late September and continued through the middle of October.
Mid-City police detectives identified Jeffrey Jakse, 27, and Carlos Castaneda, 25, as the suspects in the series.
In these cases, the men smashed the front window to make entry into the businesses and stole the cash registers.
Detectives say additional burglary cases in Pacific Beach, La Jolla, Hillcrest, and Mission Hills closely matched the cases occurring in the Mid-City area.
Both men were booked into the Central Detention Facility on multiple counts of burglary.
