CASA DE ORO–Homicide detectives are investigating the deaths of a 56-year-old woman and her 16-year-old granddaughter found dead inside their home.
California Highway Patrol officers were flagged down by citizens after an odor was detected coming from a residence in the 4100 block of Avoyer Place in the unincorporated area of La Mesa. The officers conducted a welfare check and discovered two deceased females inside the house.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Rancho San Diego Station and Sheriff’s Homicide Detail are investigating. There are no signs of forced entry or a struggle.
The identities of the victims as well as the causes and manners of death are pending autopsies by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
