LEMON GROVE–Deputies arrested two people after they purchased merchandise with a fraudulent credit card at Home Depot, Lemon Grove deputies said Wednesday.
Home Depot store security saw the male enter a hotel room at the Econo Lodge located next door and called the Sheriff’s Department. Deputies contacted the occupants of the room who were identified as Lazaro Quijano, 30, and Bunthi Im, 29.
A search of the hotel room revealed numerous credit cards and identification cards, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a stolen handgun. A search of the couple’s vehicle revealed credit card making materials and several items that had been purchased from other retailers via the use of fraudulent credit cards. The couple is suspected of conducting numerous similar credit card frauds at Home Depot stores throughout the state. The Sheriff’s Financial Crimes Unit is conducting further investigation.
Quijano and Im were booked and charged with burglary, forgery, possession of firearms, identity theft, and possession of a controlled substance. Bail is set at $250,000:
