Two Adults Arrested In Kearny Mesa Robbery, Assault

October 26, 2015 By sdcnews

SAN DIEGO–Police officers arrested an adult male and female for robbery and assault of a 64-year-old female in Kearny Mesa.

Cody Doyle, 23, was charged with first degree robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy. Sierra Noriega, 21, who was reported as a missing person, was arrested and charged with burglary, possession of stolen property, identity theft, and conspiracy.

On October 19, the victim entered a business in the 7400 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard and placed her purse on the front counter of the business. A man entered the business and stole the woman’s purse. The man ran outside to his vehicle while the victim chased him attempting to get her purse back. The struggle for the purse continued at the man’s vehicle. He began to drive through the parking lot dragging the woman a short distance before she was released from the vehicle. The man fled the scene before police arrived. The woman received minor cuts and abrasions to multiple parts of her body.

On October 22, Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 13400 block of Community Road to conduct a welfare check related to a missing person case. Deputies contacted a woman related to the missing person case along with a man she was with. During their investigation, the deputies found stolen items in their possession that were related to the Oct. 19 robbery. Deputies also located a stolen Dodge Caliber, which was used during the robbery.
