Suspicious Man Caught Taking Pictures, Videos Of Vista Islamic Center

April 8, 2019 By sdcnews

VISTA–The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is asking the community’s help in finding a man who was seen acting suspiciously outside a religious center in Vista.

The incident was reported on March 30 at about 8:30 p.m. at the Tri-City Islamic Center located in the 2100 block of Industrial Court.

A man was spotted taking photos or video of the building on his cell phone. Someone from the center saw what was happening and invited the man inside. Once he saw there were other people present inside the center, the man took off running. He appeared to be alone and no car was seen. It’s unclear why the man was taking cell phone photos or videos of the religious center, but the Sheriff’s Department is interested in speaking with him.

Witnesses describe the man as Hispanic, in his late 20s, standing about 5’7″ tall with a lean or muscular build. He has short dark hair and a blonde beard. He was last seen wearing a red hat, a dark gray sports coat and blue jeans.

If you see something suspicious, call the Sheriff’s Department at (858) 565-5200. In the event of an emergency, call 9-1-1.

You can also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers tip line at (888) 580-8477. You could be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to a felony arrest.
