Chula Vista, CA–Chula Vista police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with the deadly assault of a San Diego man on April 15 while on the crowded dance floor at Papagayos Grill and Cantina in Chula Vista, authorities said.
Detectives identified the suspect as 38-year-old Bernabe Bahena Rivera. They said Rivera is allegedly responsible for the death of Jose Perez Fong who died from his injuries on April 21 while being treated at Scripps Mercy Hospital
According to the Chula Vista Police Department, Rivera has ties to Chula Vista, San Diego, and Mexico.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
