San Marcos, CA–Sheriff’s Department detectives and San Diego County Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance for information on a shooting near a sports park during a baseball game on Monday evening in San Marcos.
The incident occurred, just before 8 p.m., near Mission Sports Park, located in the 900 block of Bailey Court.
Deputies responded to the scene after receiving reports of someone discharging a firearm near the park. They searched the area but didn’t find anyone who had been shot or hurt.
Surveillance video from one of the baseball fields at the park captured audio of what sounded like gunfire, as well as some kind of projectile hitting the field.
Anyone who witnessed the shooting or has surveillance video that may have captured the incident is urged to call the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station at (760) 510-5200.
