LEMON GROVE–A student at Monterey Heights Elementary falsely claimed that an unknown male adult grabbed him, and pulled him along a sidewalk about a hundred yards away from the school.
On November 12 at 2:55 p.m., Lemon Grove Station deputies received a radio call of an attempted child abduction from Monterey Heights Elementary School in the City of Lemon Grove.
The student reported that he was able to free himself from the suspect’s grasp and run back to the school. The incident was reported as students were being released from their school day.
Deputies obtained a suspect description, and along with the assistance of the Sheriff’s ASTREA helicopter, started searching the neighborhood around the school.
During the interview with the detectives, the student told them that he had actually made up a false story, and that no one had attempted to abduct him.
At this time the Sheriff’s Department does not have any information to conclude the student, or any other student at the school, had been abducted.
