Star Theatre Company Kicks Off Summer With Pajama Game

July 5, 2012 By sdcnews

OCEANSIDE–In the tradition of last summer’s hugely successful production of “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” the Star Theatre Co. presents its new summer blockbuster “The Pajama Game.”

The dangers of a workplace romance and the battle of the sexes are explored to hysterical effect in this romantic comedy from the creators of “Damn Yankees.”

Bright and brassy, this unconventional, fast-paced musical embodies Broadway at its very best. The energetic score is brimming with songs and dances, which have become popular musical theatre standards (among them “Hey There,” “Steam Heat” and “Hernando’s Hideaway”) and features plenty of splashy, fun production numbers, including a comic “dream ballet.” For solid, classic musical comedy, it’s hard to beat “The Pajama Game.”

All performances will be held at the Star Theater, 402 North Coast Highway in Oceanside.

Evening performances are July 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. Matinees on July 22, 28 and 29 at 2 p.m. Special priced tickets are $10 on July 26.
