OCEANSIDE–A small brush fire broke out Monday morning near a senior residential neighborhood in Oceanside.
Oceanside and Camp Pendleton firefighters responded to the blaze at 10:30 a.m. in the 3700 block of San Ramon Drive.
The size of the fire was approximately 40 feet, according to Oceanside Fire Chief Rick Robinson.
One eucalyptus tree caught fire which ran to the tree crown. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire was determined to be an open flame most likely from cooking activity. The area is a known homeless encampment, according to Robinson.
There were no injuries to fire personnel.
