POWAY–Sheriff’s deputies released the identity of the suspect and victim allegedly involved in a fatal stabbing near a convenience store in Poway. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Kevin Talbott, a transient from the Poway area, has been arrested for murder.Talbott was booked into the San Diego Central Jail, where he is being held without bail. Early Sunday morning, just after 1:30 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call of a stabbing near the 711 store at 13012 Pomerado Road in Poway. When deputies arrived, they located an adult male victim inside his vehicle on Pomerado Road, not far from the 711. He was seriously injured. The victim was treated and rushed to a local hospital by Poway Fire Department personnel, but he did not survive. That man, identified as thirty-year-old Kevin Talbott, a transient from the Poway area, has been arrested for murder. Talbott was booked into the San Diego Central Jail, where he is being held without bail. The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Zubayr Phahez, of Poway. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office reports the victim’s cause of death has been determined to be a stab wound, and the manner of death has been ruled a homicide.
