
SAN DIEGO–The Sheriff’s Waterfront Park Enforcement Team (WET) partnered with the Sheriff’s Homeless Assistance Resource Team (HART) to conduct an outreach operation at the County Administration Center in downtown San Diego.
On November 20, From 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., 30 employees and volunteers from various agencies including the Health and Human Services Agency, connected the homeless at or near the Administration Center with available resources at the temporary command post on site. During the contacts, the homeless were offered a range of services such as transportation to shelters especially with the rainy weather, food, housing assistance, job programs, family reunification services, veteran’s services, drug rehabilitation and mental health services to help them rebuild and reclaim their lives.
In total, services were provided to 36 people, 21 care packages were handed out, a veteran received shelter assistance and one family reunification travel ticket was booked for travel out of state.
