SAN MARCOS–San Diego Sheriff’s Deputies from the Vista Court Services Field Unit and Sheriff’s Detectives assigned to the Fugitive Task Force conducted Saturday a warrant sweep in the San Marcos area.
The areas affected by the sweep included the City of San Marcos, and the surrounding unincorporated community. Deputies made 29 arrests and cleared a total of 37 warrants. The warrants consisted mainly of misdemeanors, but included several felonies.
In addition to the warrant arrests, one male suspect was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and violation of a temporary restraining order.
Deputies had responded to a residence in the city of Escondido to arrest a female suspect with an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. After contacting and arresting the woman, a male companion was also contacted inside the residence. Deputies discovered that the female they had arrested had filed a temporary restraining order preventing the male subject from contacting her. Both subjects, along with the other arrestees where booked into the Vista Jail.
