JULIAN–Seven people were arrested in connection with a marijuana growing operation in Julian. The suspects were arrested following a traffic stop in the 700 block of Ramona Drive in Julian just before 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Deputies found marijuana and equipment used to grow marijuana in two vehicles. It appears the suspects were in the process of dismantling and moving equipment from a nearby house. The house was also searched and deputies discovered more marijuana growing equipment, 25 marijuana plants, a firearm and ammunition. The suspects Kevin Chhum, 19; Dara Seng, 29; Eric Tijerina, 24; Adlai Pacificar, 25; Jonathan Castaneda, 21; Suzanne Sisomphone, 29 and Sarat Sek, 28, were booked on charges of cultivating marijuana. Sek was additionally charged with a felon in possession of a firearm. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be added at a later time.
