Señor Grubby’s 7th Annual Community Christmas Party To Benefit Food Assistance Program

December 17, 2018 By sdcnews

CARLSBAD–Señor Grubby’s will hold their 7th annual Community Christmas Party and Food Drive Fundraiser to benefit Got Your Back San Diego, a North County San Diego-based nonprofit weekend food assistance program developed specifically for children who depend on school cafeteria food for their primary source of nutrition Monday through Friday and are often forced to skip meals on weekends due to limited resources.

The charitable event management, held December 19 from 6 to 9 p.m., will feature Santa Claus, snowfall, complimentary dessert from BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse Carlsbad, face painting, photo booth fun, bounce house from Beach City Jumpers, Magic by ‘The Magic Doc’ Dr. Jeffrey Pearson, raffles, giveaways, and more to raise money, food and awareness for local children who are food insecure. Attendees are encouraged to bring shelf stable milk, individual sized cereals, and oatmeal. Señor Grubby’s is located at 377 Carlsbad Village Drive in Carlsbad.

The free event is open to the public, and all ages are welcome. Raffle items include gift cards to Dini’s by the Sea, Bluewater Grill, Bagby Beer, House of Air Carlsbad; gift baskets from Surf Ride, Brio Skin Studio, AK Martial Arts, Pepsi; as well as donations from The Paintball Park, Indian Joe Brewing, Emerald Isle Golf Course, Living Coast Discovery Center, Cameron Fitness BootCamp, BLoved by Kelly Barlow, Pacific Park at Santa Monica Pier, Knockout Pizza, Mamma Chia, New Belgium Brewing, and more. All proceeds will be donated to Got Your Back San Diego to fund the Oceanside warehouse facility to fill backpacks with two breakfasts, two lunches, two dinners, and a few healthy snacks, enough food to sustain a child through the weekend on a year-round basis.

The event is made possible by the support of Precision Electric Group CA, My Preferred Lender, Pacific First Realty, Flood Solutions Inc., BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse Carlsbad, House of Air Carlsbad, Creative Photography Incorporated, New Village Arts, Icetown Carlsbad, Brio Skin Studio, Camarena & Associates LLC., Swipe Direct Merchant Processing, Mix Vapes, Anar Party Rentals, eLiveLife.com, E&D Framers, TonySanDiego.com, Sullivan Pacific Inc., Diamond Environmental Services, Blackheart Building Solutions & Macaroni Kid Carlsbad.

“We thank the community for their many years of support and believing in what we do,” said Justin Jachura, president and co-founder of Señor Grubby’s.

“We at Got Your Back SD are overjoyed to be the recipients of the great efforts put forth again this year by the Señor Grubby’s team. We have found that linking our arms together in this community makes it happen for kids. Thank you, each one!” – Sue McLeod , co-founder American Relief Organization.

Señor Grubby’s was founded in 2008 by a group of San Diegans looking to put a twist on Mexican fare. Located in the heart of Carlsbad, the restaurant has since become famous for its Mexican-influenced street tacos and signature infused breakfast menu.
