CARLSBAD–The Sears store in Carlsbad will be closing its doors.

The store, located at The Shoppes at Carlsbad Mall, will begin liquidation sales in mid-September, according to TransformCo, the store’s parent company.

Larry Costello, Public Relations Director for Sears and Kmart, released a statement about the closure:

“After careful review, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to close the Sears store in Carlsbad, Calif. The liquidation sale is expected to begin in mid-September and the store is planned to close by mid-December.  We encourage customers to continue shopping on Sears.com for all their product needs.”
